Urgent Ship Supply During Spring Festival: CIMC Equilink's Successful Delivery
Sep 13,2025

Amidst the joy of family reunions during the Spring Festival, CIMC Equilink received a special ship supply task. Facing the unique challenges of the holiday season, an extremely tight preparation cycle, and unexpected on-site issues, we successfully completed this "Spring Festival battle" with efficient execution and emergency response capabilities, earning high recognition from the client through professional services.

Project Background and Client Needs
On the eve of the Spring Festival, a client urgently requested ship supplies: over 300 types of ship supplies needed to be prepared within 3 days before the holiday, with drivers and delivery personnel arranged to complete the delivery during the Spring Festival. At this time, as logistics and production enterprises were successively shutting down for the holiday, gathering a wide variety of materials in a short period and ensuring the delivery chain during the festival posed extremely high demands on supply chain responsiveness. The client made it clear that the supplies must be delivered on time with guaranteed quality and quantity.

Project Initiation and Planning
Upon receiving the request, CIMC Equilink's ship supply team immediately activated the emergency response mechanism, establishing a special task force led by key business personnel. They convened an urgent coordination meeting involving procurement, warehousing, logistics, and other departments. The team categorized the 300+ types of ship supply materials into three groups—urgent, regular, and auxiliary—prioritizing communication with suppliers of goods heavily affected by the holiday, such as fresh produce and precision instruments.

We systematically reviewed suppliers' Spring Festival schedules: for manufacturers still operating, we initiated express order processes; for those already on holiday, we coordinated temporary resumption of work or mobilization of backup inventory in the region; meanwhile, we reserved a 10% emergency procurement quota to address sudden supply shortages. For delivery, we pre-signed Spring Festival emergency transportation agreements with partner logistics companies and secured 3 teams of professional ship delivery personnel on standby.

Key Actions and Challenge Responses During Execution
Challenges were particularly prominent during the preparation phase. The entire team canceled their vacations and split up to coordinate with 87 suppliers. Among them, 23 had already announced holiday closures. After multiple rounds of communication, 19 agreed to temporarily resume work to rush production or allocate inventory; for the 4 suppliers that insisted on shutting down, we activated the backup supplier list, found alternative resources within a 200-kilometer radius, and completed material replenishment in just 18 hours.

An unexpected issue arose during delivery: when the materials arrived at the port on Lunar New Year's Day, the client's ship crane suffered a sudden failure and could not be used. The on-site supervisor immediately contacted port staff, eventually securing an emergency crane. Team members braved the cold wind and worked continuously for 4 hours to ensure all materials were safely loaded into the ship's hold.

Delivery and Acceptance Details
On the morning of the second day of the Lunar New Year, the client's ship supplies supervisor counted and inspected all items. Over 300 types of materials were delivered on time with guaranteed quality and quantity. The client expressed great satisfaction with our services, stating, "To ensure such delivery quality during the Spring Festival exceeds our expectations."

Project Outcomes and Client Feedback
The successful completion of this urgent ship supply task not only helped the client avoid ship detention due to material shortages but also set an example of an efficient supply chain in the special scenario of the Spring Festival holiday. In a thank-you letter, the client noted, "The professionalism and sense of responsibility demonstrated by CIMC Equilink under extreme conditions show us what a reliable partner looks like." Currently, both parties have entered negotiations on an annual framework agreement for ship supplies, with this successful delivery laying a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.

CIMC Equilink firmly believes that true service capability is not only reflected in proficiency in regular scenarios but also in stepping up in special moments. Going forward, we will continue to optimize our emergency response mechanism, providing more efficient and reliable ship supply services to support the global shipping industry.
