1. Tank container:

Also known as liquid container. It is a special container made for the transportation of food, medicine, chemicals and other liquid goods. It is composed of a tank body and a frame. The tank body is used to load liquid, and the frame is used to support and fix the tank body. The outer wall of the tank is made of thermal insulation material to insulate the tank, and the inner wall is generally ground and polished to avoid liquid remaining on the wall. In order to reduce the viscosity of the liquid, the lower part of the tank is also equipped with a heater, and the internal temperature of the tank can be observed by a thermometer installed on the upper part of the tank. For the convenience of loading and unloading, the top of the tank is provided with a loading port, and the bottom of the tank is provided with a discharge valve. When loading, the liquid enters from the loading port at the top of the tank, and the unloading material flows out from the discharge hole, and can also be sucked out from the top loading port with a straw.

2. Tank container classification:
(1) IMO Type 1: Dangerous Goods Tanks
• Liquid chemicals with a flash point below 0°C;
• Certain highly toxic or corrosive chemicals;
• Spontaneously combustible cargo;
• cargoes that are dangerous when wet;
• Self-oxidizing cargo;
• Liquid cargo whose sealing pressure does not exceed the allowable pressure of the tank;
• For tanks carrying corrosive and unstable cargoes, construction of special steel and consideration of necessary linings;
• The sum of the water vapor pressure in the tank and the resulting other partial pressures and 0.35kg/cm2 at 65°C is not allowed to exceed the design pressure of the tank;

• Material can be discharged from the bottom or top of the tank

(2) IMO Type 2: Sub-hazardous cargo tanks
• Liquid cargoes with a flash point of 0°C to 61°C and no other hazards;
• Certain chemicals that are less hazardous, toxic or corrosive;
• Liquid cargo whose sealing pressure is lower than 172.4kPa but not exceeding the allowable working pressure of the tank;

• Discharge from the bottom of the tank.

(3) IMO type 5: liquid gas tank
• For less hazardous room temperature chemicals;
• unrefrigerated liquefied gas;

• Discharge from the bottom of the tank.

(4) IMO Type 7: Refrigerated liquid gas tanks
• Insulated tank containers;
• Shipping cryogenic liquefied gases that require temperature control;
• other liquid perishable goods;

• Discharge from the bottom of the tank.

(5) IMO Type 0
• Non-dangerous goods with a flash point exceeding 61°C;
• Non-toxic and non-corrosive cargo;
• Goods not on the embargoed list of international enforcement agencies;

• Liquid food, but alcoholic beverages with a flash point over 21°C or an alcohol content over 25% should be shipped in IMO Type 1 containers.

3. Tank container size:

There are corner load-bearing frames around the tank for protection and hoisting. The external frame dimensions of the tank are exactly the same as those of an international standard 20 container (length: 20 feet, width: 8 feet, height: 8 feet 6 inches). Can be used for road, rail and water transportation. Can carry fluid cargoes up to 14,300 to 31,000 liters (or more)
